The capoeira group Cordão de Ouro London was founded in October 2000 by Mestre Poncianinho.

Cordão de Ouro means "the belt of gold". The name Cordão de Ouro was created by the founder of the group in Brazil. Mestre Suassuna, one of the biggest names in capoeira worldwide.

Cordão de Ouro London practice at venues across London, and is a very sociable and friendly group. Classes don’t have to be booked in advance, just turn up at the venue. Beginners are welcome! See timetable for classes and venues.

We hold social events outside and indoors, capoeira workshops, batizados and brazilica parties. Students are given the opportunity to take part in various capoeira exhibitions and shows, from beginners to advanced.

You don’t need a CDOL uniform if you are just trying out the class, but to continue training with the group you need to wear one.
